Wondering where to get ready for your wedding? So many beautiful moments are going to happen at this location, and there are certain things you want to consider if you’re going to set the perfect scene.
So now you might be wondering—what are they? Don’t worry: I’ve got you. In this post you’ll learn the five most important factors to consider before you commit to where you’ll be getting ready on your wedding day.
5 Tips For Choosing Where To Get Ready for Your Wedding
Ready to chat about your wedding day “getting ready” space? Here’s what you should consider before you choose where to get ready on your big day:
✨1. The size and layout of the space.
Having enough space for yourself and your party (as well as your partner and their party) is of the utmost importance! Enjoying being in the space together makes room for the best memories—and some pretty awesome photos too. The space should also be able to accommodate your beauty vendors and photographer/videographer and allow everyone to move around comfortably.
And here’s a hot tip for you: Have a separate room just for you where you can step away from the hustle and bustle and take a breath if you need to (and arrange this for your partner too).
✨2. A clutter-free setting.
There’s a lot going on when you’re getting ready for your wedding, but you don’t necessarily want those details in your wedding photos. Make the bed, put away (or hide!) clothes, make sure the makeup is stored away. Do anything you need to do to make sure the space looks clean and photo ready for when your photographer shows up! If the space can’t be decluttered, it’s in your best interest to explore other options.

✨3. Adequate lighting.
Natural lighting looks so good on you. Big bright windows and naturally lit spaces make for the most gorgeous photos. We don’t know about you, but at Juno Photo we LOVE light and airy photos!
✨4. Aesthetic of your wedding.
Keep your getting ready location within the same aesthetic of your wedding. This ensures your photos will tell a cohesively stunning story from the start of your big day to the end. I highly recommend a space with neutral coloured walls and a minimalist style because this kind of setting allows you to shine through in the photo!

✨5. Proximity
The last thing you want is to be stuck in traffic on your way to your ceremony. Choosing a location that is close to the venue or close to the ceremony will help eliminate stress and provide more time for you to enjoy every moment!
BONUS TIP: If the bride and groom are getting ready in the same location, your photographer will thank you! That said, we are more than happy to accommodate couple’s who aren’t at the same location to make sure we don’t miss one single, special moment of either half of the couple.
Get Excited about Getting Ready for Your Wedding
Choosing where to get ready for your wedding is part of the planning process, and actually enjoying time where you’re there and creating memories is part of the fun. You should have the best experience possible when you’re getting ready—and amazing photos of the experience to look back on for years to come.
I hope these tips help you choose the perfect place to get ready for your wedding!
